I had a decent rate with Progressive, but when it came to claims they were the worst. This has been repeated by many bodyshops I talked with. I changed to AAA and got a slightly lower rate with exceptional service.

Progressive is good but one caution. They will not review you and give you better rates.
If you have them for lets say over one year. Call them and ask to review you again(such as FICO Score) When I first got them my FICO was 500. So I paid a lot but still cheaper then elsewhere. Now my FICO is ~720 and I pay 90 per month for two people and two cars.
Everywhere else they want 160 per Month.

When I found out about a new discount they actually sent me a check for all the money that I would have saved if I had known about it from the start. (9 months later)

They are good on my '03 Harley but lousy on the '00 Dodge Ram and '07 Pontiac G5 combination.

I had been with progressive for a year and a half when i found another insurance company where they charged me 350 instead of 700 (with progressive). Hell, no, Progressive is not the cheapest. It might be cheaper than allstate or geico but you can always look for better rates with companies that don't advertise themselves that much

I tried this offer and ended up saving about $20/month. Then I made some adjustments to the recommended policy. Even doing so, I'm still saving about $15/month than my former policy with Geico.

I saved over $4K annually with Progressive vs. GEICO. (not a typo) Plus their My Rate program lets you install a module in your car which tracks your driving habits and can reduce your rates every 6 mos. I was with GEICO for 23 yrs and when I finally put in a claim they up'd my premiums. + GEICO's adjustment policy is the pits.
