This card used to be a much better deal, but now it only gives a 5% rebate on the first $100 worth of gas or auto expenses. This means no big bonuses as the price of gas continues to rise, or for auto repair/maintenance. Still not bad for the first $100/month worth of gas; just be sure to switch to another card for gas purchases above that each statement period.

I have an amex/costco card that pays back 3% on gas and dining, 2% on travel, 1% on all other purchases with no cap. Even with the 2% difference with the price of gas I will save more using it. They also have a business one that is 5% on gas instead of 3%.

"paid at the pump". And 2% on supermarkets which includes walmarts. (Most cards dont include walmart with supermarkets)

Cashback every month as a credit on your statement.

You have to join the National Military Family Association (NMFA) for one year at a cost of $20.

But, they occasionally have great CD rates also. Thats when I became a member, I made more on the CDs compared to others than the $20.

Earn 2% cash back on supermarket purchases*

Earn 5.00% cash back from gas purchases paid at the pump

Earn 1.25% cash back from all purchases** you make with the card during each billing cycle

Up to $50,000 limit

No Annual Fee

Cash Rewards credited each month

No special restrictions to earn your cash rewards

When I called to activate my card, customer service informed me that I have to pay at the pump get the 5% rebate. If I take my card and give it to the clerk then my rebate will only be 1%.

Remember to pay at the pump.

But really, you would think the store operators would rather you pay inside where theres a chance you may buy some of their overpriced stuff.

Id rather pay at the pump and always do but I dont see why.

Except that maybe Gas has always had a higher kickback % than other purchases and they dont want to reward us 5% on other stuff bought at places that sell gas.

Now, If I could just buy sams club giftcards at the pump !

LOL

Thats the hardest place for rewards. (Except gas)

With the price of gas nowadays the $100 a month doesn't even cover two fill ups. I fill up at $65 each time for 15 gallons, so this card doesn't amount to much.

They waived my late fee after I was late for 4 days with a simple 2 sentence email. I'm not usually enamored with credit card companies but this was a nice thing Discover did.

Thanks alecto,

I have had this card for some time, and have been impressed with it, never paying any interest to date, but making full use of the cash back rewards.

I didn't notice the new limit on $100/mo for 5% Cashback however, but went to website and verified. Still pretty low interest credit card, but not at good as it was previously. I wonder if these types of changes will continue after the new regulations go through with Credit Cards..?
