I've been with Ally for nearly a year, now. What I like most is that the advertised rates are legitimate and the banking is straight forward and simple. "

Reply Cancel ReplyThe other great thing about Ally that I haven't seen at other Banks is they'll offer you an additional .5% as a customer loyalty addition to your CD. If the current rate is 2.10% and you have been a customer whose CD is about to expire, the tack on another .5% to keep you. You can't beat that anywhere. Great Bank! "

Reply Cancel ReplyThis is a product of artificial competitive advantage granted by the government. The taxpayer funded GMAC Bank, AKA Ally, AKA recipient of TARP funds is able to pay over market interest because of government dollars. Lame. "
There was even an article in the last couple of months about other banks complaining about just this kind of unfair competition. "

Reply Cancel ReplyWho cares? Were just looking for good CD rates here. I also am a taxpayer and I like ALLY. If you don't then you don't have to do business with them and can continue your whining about TARP. "

Reply Cancel ReplyI have an ally account. You can do better at Capital One Savings, which gives you an additonal .10% a quarter. They are both on-line accounts so you might as well get the extra money "

Reply Cancel ReplyI've had my Ally savings account for a few months now. Rates have fallen (but rates have fallen everywhere), but are still pretty good. I haven't used their support yet because of lack of problems. "

Reply Cancel ReplyGreat rates, set up the account quickly. (BTW -- I think it's kinda not cool to give it a thumbs down just because you don't like the ad -- comment on the quality of the offer!). "
