Borrow Money and Build Credit with AccountNow!
16 commentsAccountNow is an online prepaid card that offers a range of products and services including Visa and MasterCard prepaid cards, direct deposit, online bill pay, online account access, FDIC-insured deposits, money share and iAdvance line of credit.
AccountNow Prepaid Visa works just like a checking account. Keep your money safe in one of our prepaid card accounts instead of carrying it around in cash. All AccountNow prepaid accounts are FDIC insured, like a checking account, to ensure the safety of your money. AccountNow Prepaid Visa & Prepaid MasterCard cards do not extend credit like credit cards, meaning you can’t spend money you don’t have. Since you are only spending money you add to your prepaid card account, you can avoid falling into debt and possibly damaging your credit score. Because you’re not borrowing money, you will never have to worry about finance charges, late charges, or over-the-limit fees. Save hundreds of dollars a year using the AccountNow Prepaid Visa and Prepaid MasterCard card instead of traditional checking accounts, credit cards, bill paying services, check cashing, or bill paying services.
There are never any late fees, finance charges or overdraft fees. You get unlimited bill paying and credit builder free of charge – no need to pay for postage or money orders. Also, you’ll never have to pay to cash your benefits or payroll check when you use our free direct deposit service.
Using the AccountNow Prepaid Visa and Prepaid MasterCard card can help you build your credit history in two ways. First, pay your bills online for free to save time, money, and demonstrate your credit worthiness. Our free credit builder program reports your bill payment history to PRBC, a credit bureau.
Second, use the AccountNow iAdvance Line of Credit – a sensible borrowing alternative to payday loans. The iAdvance Line of Credit is a short term loan program that is easy to get and cost less than a payday loan. When you pay back the loan, we will report your payment history to the major credit bureaus.
- 100% approval guaranteed
- $0 upfront fees with direct deposit
- No Overdraft Fees
- No Credit Check!

Read - or re-read the offer carefully. It states with an "iAdvance" Account Now will report repayment history to the three major bureaus. If a cardholder does not use the cash advance iAdvance option, Account Now reports only to the PRBC.

I have a question for the moderator: I bank @ Wells Fargo online (opened to pay mortgage loan w/o paying fees charged to pay by phone) and use excess cash for debit card purchases. Wells Fargo offers a "cash advance" option that limited to 1/2 of the last deposit ($500 deposit = $250.00 cash advance availability), and charges $2.00 per $20.00 of advanced funds ($100 advance = $10.00 fee). The advance must be repaid within 35 days.
Since it is also a "loan", does WF report the repayment history to credit bureaus? Thank you!

Banks are under no obligation to report. They are only obligated to report accurate information if they do report. In this case, I suspect that they do not report. The best way to find out is to take a look at your credit report.

Isn't funny the way CK only shows the total number of positive "Yes" user votes? Based on these comments, I bet there are 3 or more times as many votes for "No" to the Is This A Good Offer question. Nice "spin" CK, too bad you can't find products to offer that you're willing to show both sides of the Pros and Cons for.

"Our free credit builder program reports your bill payment history to PRBC, a credit bureau." Who is PRBC? I've never had a creditor state that they pulled my "PRBC" credit report. If results are not reported to Experian, Equifax and/or TransUnion, chances are almost all creditors who look at your credit reports will never see anything about this card. Avoid ALL cards that do not post your credit to atleast one of these three major Credit Reporting Agencies.

By putting a little aside into this account and borrowing and paying money on a regular basis this has helped my credit. While other options are better, if you really truly screwed up your credit or with a bank this is a good start.

Looks like credit Karma wants to make a buck more than they want to look our for their members.

Since our members vote and control our offers, I'm not sure how we do could it any better. Not everyone has perfect credit and products like these make sense for some users.

I actually have the card. It does not report to your credit but it is good for those, like myself, who have a problem balancing a checkbook and don't want to continue getting "raped" by the banks and their high overdraft fees. No checks either so it really makes you think about your "wants vs. needs". I use it for my military disability payment and I actually like it.

This pitch does NOT in any way effect your credit score negatively or positively. Much like a "debit" or checking account "MAC" card, no loaning or forwarding you any more buying power than you have available in a secured cash account. So....credit builder? Nope! Not a chance. You're better off with a typical debit card.
