Great card for building credit!
WWARD Cardholder

The Store itself is competively priced, so there's no hidden fee there. I applied and received this card about a year ago with scores in the 620-650 range, which is pretty much where they've remained because of numerous inquiries and 12 new lines in 2 years, and a 6 figure tax lien from a failed venture years ago. Started with a secured Cap1 at $2,000, then picked up a bunch of the BS cards with the crazy fees and tiny limits, just to establish credit. Keeping the Secured Card, as it's my oldest at just over 3 years. Cancelled all 4 of the crazy fee entry level cards as I accumulated medium grade cards from cap1, Barclays, Discover, a bunch of store cards etc.I also have 2 loans from Carmax. First with cosigner, paid, and the second is current. Also one Student loan for $3800, paid. Zero late pays. Anyway, HHGREGG started at $1,500, just shy of a year ago, and I maxed it out while buying a $2,200 TV. They ALWAYS have Interest free promotions, so the 19.9% rate never applies. I set the autopay at $75 per month, figuring I'd use the free money for 20 of the 24 months offered, and avoid having to make any big balloon payments at the end to avoid interest. This formula apparently worked for their bean counters, as they bumped my limit from $1,500 to $3500 after about 8 months, without my asking, and with no additional credit pull. This in turn lowered my utilization which seems to ride between 30 and 40% of about $15,000. I highly reccommend this card for credit building purposes, simply because the credit limit grows quickly, and virtually anything you purchase will be interest free for 6, 12, 18, or 24 months depending on the size of the purchase.

This set-up for making a payment is horrible...Its like they make it hard for you to make payment  online and now you have to pay late charges....The site is horrible all they want to do is sell and make it hard for you pay for it.  Try to help the customer who  bought

your items pay for it.  I can't see why you can't be like other merchant.  Making a payment on line is easy.

So far So Good !

Got approved in Oct 2016 with CL 1200 - scores 605 across the board. Relaced Washer/Dryer. Reduced the balance to 500 by making multiple payments within last 6 months. Requested CLI - Rep was very friendly - approved for 3500 !!! ( 2300 more ). This really helped me in bringing down my utilization ratio to 8% !!! Scores Jumped to 672 !!! Love this card and Synchrony Financial.

Good card, easy approval

I had applied for several credit cards and recieved denials due to lack of credit history even though I was around a 700 credit score. Went to hhgregg to buy a tv, figured I'd pay in cash if they didn't approve me. Process took literally 3-5 minutes and bam, approved for $4500, nearly 10 times what the tv cost. 12 months interest fee, and keeps my utilization rate down with such a high limit. Staff was friendly and nice, I recommend signing up online to pay your bill, as with everything this keeps you from worrying about a check getting lost, or posting late. Overall fantastic card with great promo offers, I've heard some say that the months of promo changed and blah blah blah, don't believe them, they are idiots, it is very clearly stated when you purchased the promo, and even has the exact expiration date as to when it needs to be paid in full as to not accrue interest.

Applied online with poor credit, long story but I have to deal with it.  My refrigerator had been down for months (manually defrosting every 4 weeks) so desperately needed a new one.  Tried a few times for a personal line of credit and never happened, on a "hope" applied online and was approved.  $1200 line.  Plus, 24 months with 0 interest will be quite a help.  Now the goal is to pay this off and then replace the range.  They at least have given me a chance when so many would not.

They say they have 12 month no interest
Anonymous Cardholder

They say you have 12 months interest when you receive you bill it changing to 6 months!  When you call and confront them about it  the only thing they do is say I'm sorry.  Never ever should anyone buy anything from store #22 Greenville,sc. Electronics Manager Leann will not even try to help you. The only words she knows is I'm sorry.

Card is fine the bank has some issues. I applied in november of 2015 got approved for 1500. Now its april 2016 and im checking my statments and im only $300 away from paying it off and all of a sudden I see my credit limit and its 3500. I call customer service because im confused about whats going on and why my credit limit went up when i never requested a credit increase. And her response was o yea we run your credit annually to increase your credit limit. Im frustrated because i didnt authorize them to run my credit.

You are an idiot. When merchants run your credit to see if they can raise your credit line it is considered a SOFT INQUIRY which does not affect your credit. I work for a major bank in the credit card division. Its people like you that should never have credit because you don't even know how it works. When you pay your bill on time and do well with your utilization, you get automatic credit increases from time to time from the card issuers. Its that simple.
