Low credit limit and hold my money
ZHGWU Cardholder

i wont say have very good credit score but most of my other credit cards have far more limit that $500 which the usbank give me. well im fine i could use it well to earn more trust.

the most stupid thing to force me closing this account is that they hold my money: it was black friday i want to ensure i could use this card well so i over pay it for hundreds dollars 6 days before this friday, it's saturday now i still cannot make my purchase through! I called customer service they said they need hold the money for at least one week to ensure it got cleared, the money had already been taken from my bank account just the other day i pay my credit card!

They just dont want lose money, ok i believe they lost a lot of customers.

Best card to select your categories
kern417 Cardholder

I had a cash rewards card before and asked for a line increase, but they offered a cash + card instead. It's now my main card for gas and food, and i also pay my cell phone bill for 5% discounts. It's better than others i have found because you can pick your categories every quarter but the options stay the same, so you can get 5% on fast food all year and 2% on gas all year rather than only getting it certain quarters. I already have a US bank checking/savings account so it was a very easy transition, and i just use my cash rewards card for 1-2 purchases per month to keep it active since that one only gets 1% back.

This card combined with the Citi Double Cash card is the ultimate combo for me, I highly recommend it so you get no less than 2% back on all credit card purchases.

Good card to apply if US bank client
ZenReview Cardholder

Approved within 3 days. Existing US bank checking customer, 1 year banking history with them. They pulled Experian Classic FICO Version 3. Score: 750. 5K credit line. Card recieved in 7 days. Categories very limited such as clothing stores with 5 % are only certain stores, with J Crew being probably the best choice. Good 5% if you have lots of gym membership fees and cellphone payments within 3 months period. Bad, theres only one choice for 2% category, making this card not that convenient as to the Citi Double Cash, with easier approval odds and 2% cashback across all categories. Aesthetically better looking than the double cash. If banking with US bank, doesnt hurt to apply. No annual fee.

Got it to pay my phone bills
Ruturaj001 Cardholder

Applied for this card and received cash instead of cash +, called cusomer service, they told me to hold on to it and they will upgade in future, called after 3 months from getting the card, they did upgrade. I will be using this card to pay for my phone bill. I have better card for gas, might use 5% second catagory for fast food.

Anonymous Cardholder

Bait & Switch with policies that eliminated its value to the user quickly; no point in the card and to protect your credit you're stuck with it but should only use it rarely to keep it active for your credit

Great Card for Responsible Payers
trillshit Cardholder

Pretty decent credit card.

I applied last year and recieved the card without a hard inquiry. I really like how it gives you the option for 5% and 2% every 2 months, although I am disappointed that they removed the gas from 5% to 2%. If you have a phone bill (Verizon, Sprint, etc) or a gym membership (Gold's Gym, 24 Hour, etc) that you pay monthly, I suggest you apply for the 5%. It racks up quite nicely. I haven't used the other options such as "Electronics" or "Department Stores" or "Fast Food". It's a waste, unless you're shopping on a regular basis or you don't give a **** about your health. I always pick "Gas" (Chevron) for the 2% and rarely "Groceries" when I feel like I'm going through food faster than other months.

If you want to pay easily, pay online. The US Bank site is very straight-forward. Because of this I have a 100% rating for paying on time. So if you're computer-illiterate, make sure you get someone that knows how to use the computer to do it for you. Or you can have the option to apply for auto-payments.

Customer service is decent. Sometimes, you get an ******* or an imbecile on the other line but if you don't like the person you're talking to, just call back again and get a new representative to assist you. This is a strategy I have been using and it has worked every time. I never had a problem with customer service since.

Also, great comedy reading thre other reviews. Some of you really need to take a class on money management. I'm going to keep it trill. If you don't have the confience or financial stability to pay for a credit card, DON'T get a credit card, plain and simple. Also, don't keep applying for a credit card when your credit score is 500 or lower. Banks will go through a hard inquiry with you and that's how you destroy your own credit. If you're not a responsible payer, don't get this card, in fact, don't apply for any credit card at all. The rewards are nice and it's a reap and sow effect. Don't expect to sit there and get your rewards when you're not even paying back on what you spend. I also advise that you DON'T cancel a credit card just because you don't like it or have a large balance on it. This isn't a video game where you can just reset and start over. That **** will stay on your record for a good 2-4 years and you can say good-bye to your credit score if you keep cancelling and re-appling for a new card.

Other than that, I only use the card for the 5% and 2%. Great card to increase your credit score if you pay responsibly.
