We think it's important for you to understand how we make money. It's pretty simple, actually. The offers for financial products you see on our platform come from companies who pay us. The money we make helps us give you access to free credit scores and reports and helps us create our other great tools and educational materials.

Compensation may factor into how and where products appear on our platform (and in what order). But since we generally make money when you find an offer you like and get, we try to show you offers we think are a good match for you. That's why we provide features like your Approval Odds and savings estimates.

Of course, the offers on our platform don't represent all financial products out there, but our goal is to show you as many great options as we can.

The rundown: Everything we like about the Citi Prestige® Card

Fourth night free at hotels

The Citi Prestige® Card could save you hundreds of dollars when you book four consecutive nights at the same hotel. With the complimentary fourth-night-free program, you’ll effectively pay for three nights, and Citi will cover for the other night of your stay, as long as you book through the or 1-800-THANKYOU.

Keep in mind, Citi’s complimentary fourth-night-free program only applies once per hotel stay. So if you’re planning a two-week vacation, you might want to consider staying at a couple of separate hotels to take advantage of more free nights.

$250 travel credit

The Citi Prestige® Card comes with a $250 travel credit each year. So, for example, that means you can purchase $250 worth of airline tickets or hotel stays each year and be reimbursed by Citi. And the travel credit doesn’t just cover airfare or hotels — you could also spring for taxis, parking, car rentals, tolls and more, knowing that you’ll be reimbursed for those travel purchases.

5 points for every $1 spent on airfare and restaurants

As a Citi Prestige® Card user, you’ll earn five points for every $1 you spend on air travel and at restaurants, three points for every $1 spent at hotels and cruise lines, and one point per $1 spent on everything else. In other words, no matter where you spend, you’ll earn rewards.

Credit for Global Entry fees

Hate waiting in line? If you qualify for Global Entry, a program through U.S. Customs and Border Protection, you can skip the customs line upon returning to the U.S. and use an expedited reentry system instead. Citi Prestige® Card will give you a credit to cover the entire $100 Global Entry application fee when you apply and the fee is charged to your account. You must reapply for your Global Entry membership every five years, but Citi has you covered. The Global Entry credit renews every five years so that you can reactivate your Global Entry membership after it expires.

Other benefits worth noting

Heads up: What you should consider before applying for Citi Prestige® Card

Citi Prestige® Card rewards come with a hefty annual fee. Before agreeing to pay $495 a year for the primary cardholder, and another $75 for each authorized user, be sure to weigh your other options.

As with any credit card, you should weigh the fees against the perks. The Citi Prestige® Card comes with a number of travel benefits, including the $250 annual travel credit.

Do the math: How to get the most out of Citi Prestige® Card

Getting the most out of the card includes using the free fourth night at hotels. But to earn those nights (up to two a year), you’ll need to book directly through or 1-800-THANKYOU to get the credit.

So in order to get the most out of this card, Citi Prestige® Card users should make sure to use the correct booking portals when planning and booking their trips.

Bottom line: Is the Citi Prestige® Card right for you?

There are different cards for different types of travelers, but the Citi Prestige® Card is great for the frequent traveler who wants thoughtful and extensive perks.

This card comes with a big annual fee, but paying that price means accessing better rewards. Between annual credits for travel, extra nights at hotels and lounge access, Citi Prestige® Card is all about making travel more comfortable and convenient.
