What's Up With Chase?
I had a credit meltdown in 2007, basically letting everything but my student loans go into collection. Most of the negatives had aged off by this June and I began to rebuild. My FICO's were right around 600 when I started getting new cards and I was approved by Cap One and Discover. Chase turned me down. Now my FICO's are all around 700 and I have another Cap One, BOA and a couple department store cards. According to CK I have a very good chance of approval for Chase Freedom, but they shot me down again. I'm bewildered by the fact that on the same day BOA approves me for a $3000 CL, Chase denies me again. Has anyone else noticed this? I've decided that I'll NEVER be a Chase customer now. I will be loyal to Discover, though, since they gave me a pretty decent CL when I was just starting to rebuild.
