just using the rewards was a headache Helpful to 2 out of 3 people

Totally helped me save money on a big trip, so I cant complain. But using the rewards was difficult at best. The mobile app doesn't track how many miles you've earned, and online it's a hassle to figure out how to use it.  Also, miles dont actually represent miles, I think they represent a penny off airfaire? Also, you can only use rewards for the full purchase price so if you travel abroad, make sure it's enough to cover the full one way seat price.  Also, they cannot be used on any flight, only on reward flights which should be booked twice as early as normal flights. Rewards flights are viewed under a different window which you have to log in with your account to view.  And just like any airpline company, they place cookies on your computer when viewig airflight prices, and they change prices several times a day so you have to delete your browing history if you want to check flight prices back later.

Personally, I loved the savings but felt a bit deceived on the reward terms.  I thought miles actually meant miles so that was disappointing. Also, *you need a Mileage account linked to the credit card to use miles- which they weirdly don't sign you up for with the card. * I found this out after calling customer service and asking where my miles rewards show up? and can be viewed. So, they made me a United account and linked them... it was a major hassle.  And I waited to book four months in advace because I heard thats the best time to buy international, only to learn that most reward flights were sold out.  There was one left.  So I guess you have to book a year in advance for a flight with few stops and nice layover destinations. Anyways, the experience gave me a headache, and I felt like the card was unprepared for me to use the actual card rewards.

Also, I have to call back agian to close the card because apparently they didn't close it the first time. So if I don't call back by December they'll charge me another yearly fee.

Great service , not so great rewards Helpful to 4 out of 5 people

Originally got the card because of Continental Airlines. It was good, got the two lounge passes in the mail, companion discount etc. Now the lounge pass never shows up and they charge more annual fee and the rewards dried up. Chase does have an excellent fraud dept, and chargebacks are easy and not complicated. Wish Chase would go to another airline rather than continue to hook their wagon to United. Likely going to cancel card to get a cash back card in near future.

i travel a lot with united and wanted it to accumulate the miles and for the few little travel perks. i was surprisingly accepted with a 5k limit right away. highest credit limit on a card was 3K before this one. Got the card today and had to call customer support and was surprised to get an american after only 30 seconds with the phone tree. He then transfered me to United for somethign and got a person immidiatly. had to recall united afterwards and took 15 min to get to a person, so far customer service was great.
