My card number was stolen after 2 months. I reported 3 fraud transactions. One was taken off but the other two I had to repeatedly call to get taken care of. The result? They accused ME of LYING and cancelled my account permanently. I'm out $640 and have no access to my funds.
beware, this card has a monthly fee of $5.95. 6x12=72. things like this should be stated right off the bat, in BOLD, as a headline, whatever, like it says on creditkarma's website. cancelling is more difficult than it needs to be, with no way to do it online, only through the run-around phone call. even then, you still have to link (takes 5 days) a checking account so you can withdraw your money, or pay ANOTHER fee to get your money from an ATM. but because of the monthly fee, my account wasn't in whole dollars, which means i could get my money from an ATM, but i'd still have to connect the checking account to get out the change. just absurd how companies like this still nickle and dime the general public.
connecting the checking account didn't work the first time so i tried again and am waiting another five days for them to link.
when you call, hit "0" and keep hitting it until a person on another continent answers. otherwise, you'll be in an infuriating loop.
I was approved after a week and a half. I also applied for the Amex everyday card as well on the same day. I had to wait for the fraud department to call and verify it was me but was instantly approved right afterwards. Also they shipped the cards out 2-3 business days so you receive them right away. You also get a account as soon as you're approved.
my credit scores are okay and I guess my history was enough to get me approved. I had two charge offs from 2007 and no late payment or other negative items on my credit report.
