Open a new credit card vrs credit age.
I am currently looking to open a new credit card, MC to be exact. Reason being there are certain sporting events that sell tickets earlier to MC holders. With that said, this isn't a must have option but one I'm contemplating. I currently have 7 lines of credit and CreditKarma suggests having 20+ which blows my mind. Opening a new credit card has its perks personally and when viewed by creditors (I'm assuming). However, if I do open a new credit card it will bring the average age of credit down. My guess is that, overall, it wouldn't be wise to open a new card, however im looking for some intelligent input before I kill the idea. For what it's worth, I'm currently hovering in the 775 and 785 credit score and have a 4% ratio of credit debt to income ratio, according to Credit Karma.
