Co-Signed for Yamaha Credit Card to buy Motorcycle
I got myself in a bind when I co-signed for a motorcycle. I actually co-signed for the Yamaha credit card it was purchased with, so my name isn't on the bike itself. The ex-boyfriend now has a repo on the bike and I recently got him to hand the bike over to me because he can no longer afford it. The bike is now about $2000 behind on payments and it's in repo. I'd like to come out of this in the best possible way. 1) My name is only on the card, not the bike, will the repo show up on my credit report? 2) Should I hand the bike over now, under an involuntary repo, or get the bike back in good standing and do a voluntary repo? Or is my credit score going to reflect an involuntary repo no matter what?
