Should I close my Capital One card?
I applied for a Capital One Quick Silver card back in mid-June, and after not hearing anything from them, but knowing my scores were decent enough to have a reasonable chance of being approved elsewhere, I went on an application spree. My results: Chase Freedom - $4500, BarclayCard - $1300, and then I finally get a card in the mail from Capital One - $300. I decided to give the Discover IT card a shot, and was approved for $2500. I told myself if I was approved for Discover that I would close the Capital One card, since it has the highest interest rate and lowest limit. Would I really be hurting myself by closing a $300 limit card, since I have yet to had a chance to use any of the cards, sans the instant $39 annual fee CapOne put on the card?
