Wouldn't opening cards when young be smart?
I seems like it would be smart to open a good amount of credit cards when you are young, preferably in college... The logic is, each application will hurt your score because of hard inquiries, but these are removed from record after 2 years. So why not take the dent your score while you are in college and aren't applying for home or auto loans. This way once your graduate and those inquiries are removed you are left with a great score that is inflated by having many open accounts. No one is suggesting this though, so I know my logic is off somewhere, but where?
