If you need to build up good credit, you may need to start with a secured credit card.  You can go to www.creditcards.com and compare interest rates on a secured credit card.  Without knowing what is on your report or what your score is, it's hard to say why you can't get a low interest card.  But if you follow the articles on the left, you can learn how to build up good credit so that you'll be able to qualify for better interest rates and offers.  By the way, a bankruptcy will stay on your credit report for 10 years after the date it was discharged or dismissed.    Best of luck!
