Point drop from hard enquiry VS merits of multiple cards to build credit
Hi all,

I'm new-ish to the US and enjoying the journey of building good credit from scratch. I presently have my 1st credit card (all payments on time; albeit a secured deposit card) and now, with my fair credit, was thinking of applying for another credit card (the Capital One Quicksilver card) that is recommended by Credit Karma. However, I note that a hard enquiry will make my score drop a few points. Would this drop in points be offset by the overall gain of being approved for another card (which I am only applying for for the purpose of building credit)?

Your advice would be welcomed and appreciated!

Thank you.
