customer service is a total disaster; it's better but still does not catch all savings opportunities. withdrawals are***bersome.

I have used upromise since 9/7/2009 and already I have $6.84. I have 3 dollars more coming to me because I installed turbosaver PLUS I have another .25 coming because I have always bought Exxon gas. I also use Discover and have used my Discover card for the 5% cash back as well. So I would have gotten 5% plus 1% to my upromise account. Starting in October, I get the 5% for groceries. I will try to get nothing but upromise products, regardless of cost, if I need it. I would get the credit card as well, but unfortunately I already have had a BOA card for over a year and a half and I am NOT closing it and risk losing my limit just so I can switch. I can't afford to do that to my credit score. But upromise is good for storing loose change you wouldn't have normally gotten. I like it and do use it.

I have been a Upromise member since 2001, it is a good way to save money for future college expenses or help pay your student loans. I never got their credit card, because I don't need more debts. We buy printer ink, hair color, clothes, etc. things we would buy online anyway & get a % into this account. If you have a problem, you can call them & customer service is very good. I recommend them, every little bit helps.

It pays for my Sallea May Loans, automatically, when I reach $50.00. Love it, and been with Upromise over 10yrs. It brought one of my loans down to $400! I use Exxon Gas, and pay my Exxon/Mobil Gas Card in full, each month to enjoy NO INTEREST and NO FINANCE FEES! Exxon gas costs more, but, is NOT watered down, and does NOT contain Ethonol as many other gas stations do. The company frequently checks its pumps for water leaks, and shuts down pumps with problems. I also use the name brand items, and registered ALL store cards, it costs MORE for name brands, UNLESS, USING COUPONS, TOO! Yes, I actually pay LESS for the name brands than store brands with coupons! If the store brand is less, I WILL get the store brand, though. Also, some stores offer buy-one-get-one-free on SOME store brands, so I just registered ALL cards, JUST IN CASE. Also, look for the Upromise logo on products...if I can save money, I will prefer the Upromise items, instead. If it costs more, and there is no added value, such as the guarentee that I get better gas with Exxon, then I will NOT get items, JUST BECAUSE of the Upromise Logo. But, Upromise IS free to join, and also, saves me when I visit McDonald's, just for USING the gift cards, and even pays me to reload it, since I SOMETIMES eat there, anyways, I always reload the card, before I eat there. It is ONLY inconvienient, for a few seconds. Wished Subway were a savings program through Upromise, too! I eat there, more! Hope this helps. Chrystinah

Good for people with lousy buying habits and/or in need of a new main card anyway. Mind you, with who puts out said card I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.

They are owned by Sallie Mae and all the money go into a trust account in your name so the money is protected. Citi used to issued their credit card but it has now switched to Bank of America.

Upromise doesn't work for my buying habits. Serious saving for college means a 529 plan.

I have been a upromise member for 9 months now. Total account balance: $5.21. That's 5 sign up bonus and a whopping $0.21 that we got for free. At this rate we will reach $13.19 in 30 years.
