Why does it say I have no/little credit history if Ive been an authorized user for 8 yrs?
I have been an authorized user on a parents account for 8 years. We set this up so I could build my credit up while I was in school. No late payment or issues.

I decided to apply for a card on my own. I was declined and when I searched for more answers I was told my line was thin and that I didn't have enough history to even provide a credit score. Any insight on why this problem has happened when authorized user strategy is commonly used as an example to build credit would be great.
