Easy and fast application process Helpful to 4 out of 4 people

Today I got Pre-Approved Acceptance Certificate, and I decided to go ahead. Instantly was approved for CL of $700.

My CS:  TU - 619, Equifax - 643.

Very poor online account information Helpful to 14 out of 18 people

I recently got approved for a $700.00 credit with Merrick Bank (Visa). Although I don't have any issue using the card my issue is with the account information available once you log into your account online. Here is what I experienced with the online information.

First when I use the toll free number to call the automated system asks for your credit card number (account number). I didn't even get a chance to put the completed number in when the system says I have entered and incorrect account number. Tried it again and got the same results. You can use the option "if you don't know your account number press "0". I had to do this twice as the system told me I entered an incorrect number.

Most credit cards I own you are able to view transactions (including pending charges) almost immediately or within a few hours at most. I make credit card charges in Canada and I can log into my Capital One account and not only see the pending transaction but also the exchange rate. This is not so with Merrick. The most recent transaction showing online with Merrick is 3 days old.

This is unacceptable and doubt I use this card for much.

Merrick vs Capital One - FICO errors Helpful to 30 out of 41 people

Capital One conistently provided much higher progressive credit limits than theMerrick Bank credit card.

Both Merrick and Capital One use TransUnion as their FICO score provider and yet the Merrick FICO was consistently 40 points lower than Capital One FICO.

When I asked customer service they said they could not comment since it was up to their external provider. The CS rep tried to politely get rid of me with a web site link and an external telephone number. Both were worthless since they just refer to getting a credit report and not anything related to this FICO score discrepancy . I don not appreciate customer support giving me the runaround.

They would not explain this major difference in FICO scores and they have no email address to followup. IMO, no email or online support equals poor support.

Shocked Helpful to 32 out of 39 people

I have the unsecured credit card from them with a $550 limit at first I was so skeptical to get them based on a the reviews about late payment fees and them not being a recognizable brand but I decided to go for it at first they sent me a dolphin card me being a male I was not for that so I called and the semi rude lady could not understand that I wanted a regular card after that got figured out (witch is the only reason customer service is not getting 5 stars)after being slammed with an activation fee and a service fee coming out to $123 befor I even had my card in I payed it as soon as I got the card in the mail and to my shock it posted to my account in less then 48 hours. All in all they are a good service and the free fico score is pretty impressive not a lot of cards do that
