#1 - Please understand this card does not report to personal credit. Which means it is a hidden tradeline and will not factor into or affect your utilization on personal credit reports. Unless you fall behind and they send your account to collections. Strongly advise against this! :) Made a note to state this since a few people seem confused about not seeing it listed on their personal reports.

After getting the runaround with Chase for Ink Cash (verification hassle, verbally told I was approved and to expect a welcome packet, then denied, umm what?) I decided to apply for SimplyCash. Instantly Approved for $6,100! Didn't see that limit coming I figured at most I would get $2,000 since I was recently approved for BCE at $3,900. This card actually works a little better than Ink Cash for me bc of the shipping category. With Ink Cash Id have to physically go to Staples and ship via USPS so that I get 5% back under the office supply category. SimplyCash has a shipping specific option for 3% back and I can schedule USPS pick-ups to ship from my home. 3% is not as good as 5% but when factoring in convenience its more than sufficient. This is a business card, if you dont have any sort of business I wouldn't suggest applying for it as you may run into issues down the line if Amex ever requests verification of your business. Having said that there are a LOT of options that qualify as small businesses and/or sole proprietorships. Ebay seller? Definitely counts, even occasional sales are fine.

5% Cash Back Options: Office Supply Stores, Wireless Telephone Service

3% Cash Back Category Options: airfare, hotels, car rentals, gas stations, restaurants, media advertising, shipping

***you may select a category every six months, so up to two category options per year***

EX FICO: 736 (Amex pulls EX 90-99% of the time) - I cant stress this enough, please do NOT base your approval odds on CK recommendations or scores. Recommendations are marketing gimmicks only, scores are FAKO and you will never see these scores listed on any paperwork a lender sends you.

Overall Utilization: 4%

AAoA: 2.3 years

Business Type: Online retail sales

Classification: Sole Proprietorship

Revenue Listed: $5,191

Business Length: 1 year

Once again Amex has issued me a limit exceeding that of my current cards. Customer service representatives are always pleasant but I have yet to call and not get an overseas CSR. Which isnt a major issue but its sometimes hard to understand a very heavy accent. Online chat service is great! Not interested in applying for Ink Cash again for at least 4-6 months from now after the recent shenanigans and two pulls from EX / EQ. SimplyCash is a nice start to building business credit and I appreciate having this option available. Any questions feel free to ask!

Our Take

The SimplyCash® Plus Business Credit Card from American Express can be a good way to save money and get rewards while building credit for your business.

What to Like

The SimplyCash® Plus Business Credit Card from American Express offers 5% cash back at office supply stores and wireless telephone services. You’ll also get to choose one more rewards category from a list, and get 3% cash back on purchases there. There’s a 0% intro APR on purchases for the first 9 months, and no annual fee.

Look Out For

This card comes with a high penalty APR that will apply in certain conditions. There’s also a 2.7% foreign transaction fee. Choosing your own 3% category is great, but keep in mind that you can only change your category once a year.
