How can I get rid of negative inquiries from car dealerships trying to get me an auto loan?
Good question? Vote for this

I was shopping around and I ended up at a few different dealerships. Now I have 29 hard inquiries on my credit report from these banks. I did not want them to go to all these banks and certainly did not give these banks permission to run my credit report.

you can call the credit bureau's and dispute them....29 is an awful amount of inquirys....if you did it all within in 2 weeks it shouldn't have had that many on your report

I did them all within two weeks.  So i should call the credit bureaus and ask them to take it off my report?

This has happened to me.  When I go to an auto dealer, lets say a Toyota dealer.  I authorize that dealer to only apply for credit with Toyota Financial.  No one else.  IF i receive denials from other lenders, I write them and indicate that the auto dealer did not have my permission to apply for credit, with them.  80% of them, will remove the inquiry.  To help even further, when I apply for credit and I sign the credit app, I add a note next to my signature indicating that only ONE inquiry is permitted and who I allowed.  That stops the aut dealer from sending it to 30 different banks looking for an approval.  Hope this helps.  It has worked for me.
