Why won't my score go up?
I have gradually over the years paid off things on my Credit Report. I have completely paid "EVERYTHING" off that was in "Collections, Arrears, Etc". I literally have no bad debts left on my credit report. The only things I have now are 2 items in good standing, no missed payments ever and current. While paying all these things, my score went down about 26 points...what did I do wrong? I want to purchase a home, but all lenders want your score to be at least 600. Everything is paid...and I can't seem to get a 600 score! What can I do? I have gotten secured credit cards (paid on them for a year with no missed payments), opened a revolving line of credit with my bank (paid on a year with no missed payments)...not sure what my next step is to get my score up there. It feels like my Credit Score is working against me and I will never be able to purchase my family a home.
