Steps to improving credit
I found credit karma a few years ago and was pretty shocked at my credit score. A couple things i expected to see, I made a really dumb decision and loaned money to someone off my credit card (I was 18) and of course i was never paid back, a few unpaid medical bills.... but there were several shocking things, things I was never told i owed, two things posted TWICE each by two different collection agencies, one of which was from my college even though I called them and they said I didn't owe them anything. I am finally in a position where I can begin working on these issues, I hired Lexington law and in less than a month several things have come off my transunion report. I had trouble accessing my experian report, but we got them the info they needed now so they are working on that now as well. I understand that removing/paying off these old debts will only do so much to improve my score. What's next after this. My credit right now on credit karma is 551 up about 25pts so far since last month but I'm still very far from even mildly acceptable credit.
