How did my score drop 58 points?
It was 682 beginning last week and this morning, after listing a new Wells Fargo account, it dropped 58 points. I have been adding new accounts to rebuild my credit based on Credit Karma's recommendations. It made a steady climb to 682 then this morning when the Wells Fargo account was listed, it dropped. Nothing else happened. Credit Karma says that one of the criteria for creditworthiness and therefore improving your score is to have more accounts, because that shows that lenders are willing to give you credit. I have been doing that over the last few months and my score improved to 682 from a previous number of 613. Someone please explain to me why this happened.
