I have both of these cards, Cap One Secured MC and Cap One Quicksilver Cash Rewards MC. I had a very low credit score, it dropped from 620 in Dec 2015, all the way down to 519 at the beginning of 2016. At this point all of my bad credit was falling off and I started to rebuild my credit. I applied for Secured Cap One MC and got approved with a 49$ deposit. I sent $99 in and instead of getting a $200 credit limit, I got $250 CL. A month later I applied for Cap One Quicksilver MC and was approved for $500 CL. A few months later I got credit limit increases on both cards. I requested a CL increase on the secured card and was denied, but the next day I had my CL increase from 250 to 550. At the same time I automatically got a CL increase on my Cap One Quicksilver MC from $500 to $1500! In July I applied for another card, the Credit One Platinum, I got 4 prescreened applications in the mail for this card, so I finally applied, knowing I would definitely get it. Today my TU is 598 and EQ is 603 and going up. Just make sure you use your credit usage is under 30%, and payments higher than the minimum payment, are made on time or even early. I tried to pay them all off as soon as possible, while still saving money, and by doing this my balance on my bank account is going up, not down. Surprised. But I'm slowly learning how to manage my credit with Credit Karma, and it's working. Good luck to all who are trying to rebuild their credit!
