BEWARE OF CITI!!!!!! Helpful to 4 out of 6 people

For any of you please be careful when applying to citi card no matter how good or bad that you think your credit is.  I have decent credit and applied to citi and was approved appon citi needing to identify a few more items of where I lived such as a utlity bill. So I chated with a rep on live chat to clarify why a utility bill was needed for a credit card approval. The live chat lady could not give me reason, and at one point even said everything was approved and gave me the amount approved for........and then all of a sudden she typed back "sorry I gave the wrong info to you and did not mean to sorry" and then disconnected us. I thought how odd. So I called to talk to a live rep to ask about the utility bill and why. I was transfered to three different reps and all said they have never heard of this, but when they finally transfered me to the applications department, they said it that they did need a utility bill. So I emailed my utility bill like a dummy to the citi.operations.credit.com only to find out that I was sending it to some boggues email which they used to hac information and use it to get my credit card number and spend $100 at the dollar store. To my knowledge when applying for anything you feel out the information that is asked only. I have never heard of a credit card company wanting a utlility bill for proof of where you live to get approved (I could be wrong). SO just putting it out there to be careful if you are asked this, especially if they ask you for that type of information through a email to not do it because it could be a hacker waiting to get the key piece he/she needed to use your credit for other things.

Rejected Helpful to 4 out of 4 people

Applied for a card with a CK score of 750 and no late or missed payments ever. Was rejected and when i called they refused to take a look or reevaluate. Customer service was rude and unhelpful as well.

Site says approved then denied Helpful to 8 out of 10 people

After carefully getting my credit score up to 700 after filing bankruptcy 4 years ago with capital one I have 2 now up tp $5,000 so seen this offer that says approved and did the app and DENIED, so there goes a inquiry on my credit (was down to 1 finally) and no card to transfer. I have a 99 payment on time out of 99 and credit utilzation of less then 20% BEWEARE before hitting that APPROVED button.
