A friend of mine does not have a long credit history. He has not used credit cards in the past due to not wanting to carry any debt. There are 1 or 2 negative things on his account as well. I have good credit and have been a good credit user for years. Would it help his credit score if I added him as an authorized user on my credit cards? I've read answers that support both the YES and NO side of it.

The answer is yes. By maintaining your credit cards in good standings with him/her as an authorized user will have a positive effect on both credit profiles. Just make sure not to go over your limit and to make payments on time.
