I purchased a new car 4 months ago and just learned that the dealership sent out my info 18 times.. These are considered hard hits. My score starting was 614 and it climbed to 625 after 3 ontime payments but the amount of hard hits really slowed the process down. Find out how many banks they sent your application to.

Yes - with a score that low, inquiries for new credit look very bad, especially inquiries for auto loans and other non-essential items.
