What counts towards DTI when getting a consolidation loan?
I plan on pulling 6 credit cards and the remaining $1100 on my car loan into one payment. ( Possibly not even the car loan because it might be paid off by the time I actually go for the debt consolidation loan. ) My DTI right now is pretty high because high balances and high minimum payments. But with the loan, those debts would be paid. So when applying for the loan would my DTI only include things like my rent and my husband's car payment...and NOT the 6 cards that will be paid off after I get the loan? Would the minimum payments counting towards my DTI go down to the minimums of what it would be if the cards got low balances after I paid them off with the loan? Or will I be stuck counting the high minimum payments when applying for the loan?
