Judgement for a private student loan
I defaulted on my private loan from Wells Fargo and a judgement was made against me in November of 2011. My wages were being garnished for a few months, but for whatever reason (I'm not sure why as I never disputed it) it suddenly stopped. I called Wells Fargo about a year ago to see if I could settle the amount of around $10,000 for less. The rep that I spoke with said the judgement was taken back and that I had to deal with their lawyer. He unfortunately was no help and I have no idea what's going on with it – haven't heard from them. Now I am wondering if private loans will be removed with the judgement being paid after 7 years. Transunion reports that it will be on record till November of 2018.
