Collections for medical bills
I received a telephone call from a collections company trying to collect on 4 bills that total 325.00 for medical co-pays even after disputing the collections over the past several months they keep verifying that the information is correct so today when they called the lady informed me that if I pay them in full she would send me a letter stating that they was paid in full. I advised her that I would not pay them because a "Paid In Collections" hurt the credit score more then not paying them at all, I also advised her that if they remove the reporting from the 3 credit companies I would pay them but I want something in writing. She said that they would not do that so I hung up. Was what I said to her correct or should I just pay them. Any advise would be helpful.
