Collections due to an ex
An ex opened up several credit cards and service provider (cell phone) in my name. I have no desire to go to court over this as I am just happy to be without her. My question is what is the best way to handle the collections I am now stuck with. Do I attempt to pay off these accounts? They are a few years in age on a few and one recent in collections. Are the collecting agencies required to show proof I opened the accounts (which I did not, and did not authorize) but due to the age of the legal advice was not to pursue prosecuting her. Any advice is appreciated.
