Can a hard inquiry be removed from my credit report?
I went to a dealer to buy a car and had my financing approved before I got there and it should have been a done deal no matter the interest rate. I took a letter of prequalification showing that I had found someone to finance my car. I was happy and didn't want any more hard inquiries on my credit report. I was told by the sales manager that they took it upon themselves to inquire if they could get me a cheaper interest rate! I did not authorize this yet it shows on my credit report as a hard inquiry. Can I get this hard inquiry removed by disputing it?
