It’s a great idea - if you pay the bill on time and don’t carry a big balance - and if you can trust them to NOT go on a spending spree. Even though an authorized user is NOT liable for the bill their credit will suffer (just like yours will) if you are late with a payment or carry a big balance, go over the limit or otherwise default.

Harry7900 is absolutely correct!! I just added my wife to my Wells Fargo account. The account will also show up on their credit report, if the account is in good standing then it'll boost their score, if the account is bad it'll drop their score, but 'YOU' are responsible for the account!! You both have to trust each other!!
