Horrible service. Not worth the trouble

I had a ck score in the 750s at the time and was preapproved, so i applied. They only gave me a 1000 limit, while I had an 12000 limit combined on my other two cards. When I ask for cl increases and apr decreases they were vague and unable to help me. Customer service over time got worse and I eventually closed the card. Probably only had this card for 15 months. Was definitely not worth it.

Balance transfer card? Helpful to 2 out of 3 people

This is what Chase converted my WaMu platinum card into after they bought them out and converted all their customers. Neither had any rewards, but they both have/had unusually-low interest rates. I currently have an APR of 11.99% on this card, which is up a bit from what it was at one point.

The bad thing I've found with using this card is that it attracts fraud like nothing else in my wallet (my suspicion is that it attracts attention from the weird orientation, the card info isn't raised, and it says "Chase" at the top, which together get it skimmed with the expectation it'll have a high limit). I've had more of these replaced than any other card. When I have used it regularly as my primary card I'd see fraudulent charges every 3-6 months. The upshot is that Chase has great customer service and perhaps the best fraud monitoring department I've ever seen - they'll call you to verify if anything is out of the ordinary and cancel/replace your card immediately if you tell them a charge wasn't you.

It's still in my wallet because it has no annual fee and a decent credit limit, so it makes a handy "emergency card" that I wouldn't worry about paying off slowly if I had to. Nothing else I carry fits this bill. Did I mention that it also has paypass for the tiny number of places that have readers?
