Hate this bank Helpful to 2 out of 3 people

Got this card in November thinking it would be a little bump for my credit. Didn't get a statement, so I paid the entire balance on the second of December. Bought a few Christmas gifts on the card and still not knowing the due date, received a letter saying that my credit limit was dropped by 1500, basically maxing me out. I called to find out why and they said it was based on my payment history. Apparently, the payment was due by 7pm the first of every month. I paid the second the first time and usually pay all my bills between the first and tenth of the month. The letter came on the fifth of January. I have tried to talk to customer service about this several times leaving a good contact number and every time I call they say that no one is available to help me but will call me back. On top of that, they never call the number that I provide. Instead, they call my old phone number that now belongs to my teen usually about 72 hours later. Worst choice I ever made opening this account and if you have one, Know that it will screw your credit! If you can avoid it, don't get involved with this card. Customer service is non existent and rather than helping my flourishing credit, there will be a permanent ping on my credit showing that they dropped my balance and that I was maxed out due to it.

Ruined my credit Helpful to 0 out of 1 people

My credit score was 768 and rising. I got their card and forgot to set up the automatic payment. I know that this was my own fault, but they could have at least called a week or so after I was late and told me I was late? You know, like a courtesy call?? When I realized my mistake, I immediately called them and they told me very sarcastically that there was nothing they could do, that they had already sent the late payment to the credit bureau. My credit took almost a 175 point hit. Yes, one late payment can affect your credit that dramatically. How unfair. I have paid everything off and ontime for decades and one late payment ruins everything. This company has no heart and doesn't give a **** about their customers.

Whats the beef?

I applied for a US bank Kroger card, Not expecting to be offered one as my credit score was pretty low I think around 635. They sent me a card with a 500 credit line. After 6 months they increased it to 1500 dollars. I applied for a second card and was approved for 2000 dollars. I pay my bills on time and I thank them for the trust.

Have had this card since 2003 Helpful to 1 out of 1 people

It's my frist card I've ever had when I started to build my credit, I haven't really found anything great about this card with thier cash back program.  I would avoid this card, I wish I would of went with something else for my first card like a Discover IT.  Which is probably the best card I have next to my Amex Platinum.
