Useful for rebuilding Helpful to 2 out of 2 people

This is a great card for rebuilding your credit. I applied and have increased my score by almost 150 points over the past year. Unfortunately, my year of waived monthly fees just expired so I am applying for another card to replace this one as the $10 monthly fee is quite steep with a small credit limit and almost no use of the card.

Two words for everyone, STAY AWAY! This place will jack up your interest to 49% You are better off getting a secured card with Bank of America or Capital One......

Garbage. Easily frauded, clean up messy Helpful to 37 out of 40 people

I got this card for the 0% intro special they offered at one point. There were a lot of fees but that wasn't the issue, I was aware of them and as other have mentioned, sometimes its just the price to pay to rebuild if it's not that great. Anyway, it was my 3rd open card I was closely monitoring my credit and found 3 fraudulent charges after about 6 months!! In about two weeks time, 3 ($50-$100) charges showed up from various websties in europe that I'd never heard of (and that disappeared within a month, I know because I went to each one as it was listed on my bill). I disputed the charges and found it to be a painful process: call, fill out and fax forms, call, call, call, etc. They did eventually take the charges off, but by the time they did, I was ready to close my account. So I paid the balance off completely all at once and stopped using it, expecting to close the account as soon as the payment processed. Then, once it did, I called to close, but they couldn't let me because 3 MORE similar fraudulent charges were processed or pending. I repeated the awful process and after an excruciating 3 months of dealing with this mess, I was finally able to close the account, though customer service retention efforts were annoying and went on and on. The main thing they touted was sending updates to all 3 credit bureaus each month. Never had any fraudulent charges anywhere else, ever.
