I have been rebuilding my credit for the past 5 years and started with a USAA secured card and had that for 4 years. During that time I have been opening up other credit cards and managing them well and now 5 years later I have a 765 credit score and decide to close the secured credit card and open up an AMEX with USAA. Instant approval with 12.5% and a 13k limit.

I have to say I have been trying to get a regular credit card with USAA for the past two years but have just been waiting on dumb credit mistakes that I made when I was young to fall off. Finally the years of hard work have paid off. I make now over $140k a year, $208k combined. My only complaint that I have with USAA is they don't look at recent history but go way back 6-7 years so I did have to wait much longer to be able to get a card through them.
