CK odds poor but approved! Helpful to 2 out of 2 people

My CK odds were poor (TU 697) and a discharged BK in 2012. I am rebuilding credit and looking to transfer Capital One balance of 3500.00 (CL: 6500.00) to a zero APR so I gave it a shot. I was hoping for the 18 months but what I got was a counter offer of 0% for 6 months then it will sky rocket to the 22.9%. And, I was only approved for $2500.00. I will pay off the balance transfer and then just use it to a minimum to keep it active. Once they executed the HP who wants to say no? I already have 9 inquiries in 3 years (2 are housing). Closing on an FHA loan late Summer so now I will just relax. I have about 5 retail cards, an Auto/Firestone card and now 2 bank cards with this one. I'm okay for now.

Chip & Pin for International Travel Helpful to 13 out of 13 people

I applied for the Discover It card on a Monday, super easy 5 minute process, and got instantly approved.  Had my credit limit emailed to me on Wednesday ($9500) and the card in hand on Friday.

I had applied for the card as I do a lot of international travel and wanted something with no foreign transaction fees, and Discover is accepted almost everywhere I usually go.  Here is where it gets interesting though.  If you do a search for Discover It and EMV (or chip), Discover's website says that they are Chip and Signature.  Disappointing, surely, but speaks to wider problems with America's relationship with cards.  But when I called to simultaneously activate my non-chip card and ask for my new chip card now, the Discover employee said that the chip card had a pin for ATM cash advances, but that the pin would actually work abroad in the traditional chip & pin sense.  She was really nice and 1-day overnighted me the card, so now I have my shiny new Discover It card with a chip & signature for the US and chip & pin abroad.

Now, my full disclosure here is that I haven't gone on a trip yet, so I'm still a little unsure myself.  I won't fully believe it until I see it.  So I'll come back and update this to confirm or deny what I was told by Discover, but as it stands now, the Discover It card is a good option for those seeking a chip & pin (not chip & signature) solution for traveling abroad.

My details:

Great card 3 months out of the year Helpful to 8 out of 11 people

I was poking around on the Discover website and decided to check for pre-approved offers. I was instantly approved and received my card 2 days later. Approval included promotional 0% for 18 months for purchases and balance transfers. After receiving the card and registereing for online access, I pulled up my promotional offers and found out that the offer was changed to 0% for 12 months for either purchases or balance transfers. So this card will only be used to take advantage of the 5% gas rewards 3 months out of the year.

APPROVED FOR 7500 AFTER 1 DAY Helpful to 18 out of 22 people

My Fico scores are EX 734 TU 726 and EQ 727 My CK scores are TU 680 and EQ 685. I have one medical collection for 50 dollars and 1 late payment on a credit card in 6 months. My Utilization was at 4%  My odds from credit Karma were good so I decided to apply to transfer balance from other credit card.  I applied online but did not get instant approval. The application required me to submit proof of residence and Proof of social Security number . I submitted proof and waited 1 day. I then tried to check the status of my application online but was redirected to submit proof again. I decided to call the direct line to find out if they had recieved my proof. I spoke to a very plesant woman who said that they did receive my proof and that it would take 2-3 minutes to review.  after 2 mnutes of being on hold she came back and told me I was approved for 7,500.00

My first grownup card in forever. Helpful to 25 out of 27 people

Just applied for this card last week online, and though I didn't qualify for the introductory interest raate of 0%, I did qualify for the card, with a start off cli of 1800. My credit is much better than it was, but still low 600's. Also, just so every one knows as of 3/15, they pull from equifax.
