GREAT CARD! Helpful to 5 out of 12 people

I HAVE JUST BEEN APPROVED FOR THIS CARD WITH $500.00 LIMIT. I LIKE THIS CARD BECAUSE OF THE CASH BACK WITH EVERY THING YOU BUY. HOSPITAL BILLS HAVE HURT MY CREDIT FOR YEARS. I COULD NOT GET CREDIT FOR ANY THING . ABOUT A YEAR AGO I STARTED TO  REALLY TRY TO WORK ON MY CREDIT AND OPENED A FINGERHUT ACCOUNT WITH A $200.00 LIMIT THAT IS $1900 LIMIT TODAY. I ALSO TOOK OUT A SECURE ACCOUNT ($400.00) FRO PNC BANK. I  THE PNC BANK CARD DOES  NOTHING FOR ME  BUT DOED SHOW THE BUREAUS THAT I DO HAVE A CREDIT CARD. I GET NO INTEREST ON MY MONEY & PAY A FEE OF $3.00 EACH MONTH. THIS SUCKS BUT I PLAN TO KEEP IT BUT RETIRE IT WHEN THE NEW CARS COMES . UP TO A YEAR AGO I KNEW NOTHING ABOUT HOW CREDIT WORKS AND CK HAS BEEN MY TEACHER AS UTILIZATION  WAS  A NEW CONCEPT AND WORD FOR ME. I ALL MOST FORGOT I WAS APPROVED AT  THREE OTHER STORES WITH A CREDIT LIMIT AT $400.00 EACH,HOWEVER THE MAIN STORE BEING  MONTOMERY WARD AND REALLY ALL THE STORES ARE RELATED - THE SAME COMPANY. I WAS SHOCKED TO FIND OUT THAT THEY DO NOT REPORT TO THE BUREAUS ABOUT YOUR PAYMENTS BUT DO REPORT IF YOU MISS A PAYMENT.  I WAS HOPING THAT IT WOULD HELP BE BUT  IT KIND OF BACKFIRED ON BE IN THE LONG RUN OF THIGS. I APPRECIATE THE CREDIT LINE  THEY GAVE  ME BUT WITHOUT REPORTING -WHATS THE POINT!

Not too bad Helpful to 30 out of 40 people

I applied for this card with a score of 619. I have a short credit history, have 2 bad remarks on my credit, and not that many lines of credit except my Wells Fargo Secured Card. I was instantly approved. I used the pre-qualify tool on Capital One's website. I was only approved for $300 and if I made 5 months of payments; I would be increased to a grand total of $500. Honestly at first I was using this card a lot, but it's not that much of a credit line. So, I can't  make my normal purchases without running out of credit available. Some time after getting approved for the Capital One, I applied for Bank of America Cash Rewards Card. This is my primary card. I have a 2,000 credit line and no annual fee (Compared to CO $39 fee). I would highly recommend this card for those who want a little bit of rewards and who have fair credit. This is a great tool to re-build and eventually apply for Amex, Discover, or other big name credit card companies. Just simply buy something you would normally with your debit card and pay off the credit card in full each month. Use your credit card smart people.
