Good idea, terrible execution. Helpful to 7 out of 7 people

I received an invitation in the mail to apply for this card. I get several of such invitations from credit card companies and they usually wind up in the shredder. However, having read about the Barclaycard Ring in the news and after doing some research, I decided to accept the invitation and sent in the application along with a request for balance transfer from another card. Now this was not a large balance transfer request and my credit rating is very good/excellent. I received the card very quickly, upon looking through the paperwork, I noticed that my request for transfer was not honoured, no word from Barclays about it at all. Barclays was kind enough to extend me a credit line of $250.00 which I thought was a mistake, as this is a ridiculously low amount in this day and age. My student daughters have been offered better credit lines. Not only the credit line was so low as to render the card completely useless, they also charged me $15.00 for a 'fast card fee', i assume for sending the card via courier, which I never authorised or requested.

I thought the credit line was a mistake so I wrote to them via the website, no reply for several days, I wrote again and again no reply. I decided to call and cancel the card, which I did. During the call the rep told me he had waived the $15.00 charge. I checked the website again later and noticed that 2 replies had come in to my messages and the fee was still there. The replies were typical boiler-plate emails. I waited to see if the charge would be credited but, after a week it was still there. So I called again and had to explain why I wanted the fee credited. The rep told me that she was crediting it and it should reflect tomorrow. Let's see.

Overall, a terribly disappointing experience, I will not consider Barclays in the future and will tell my friends and colleagues to avoid it.

Awesome! Helpful to 2 out of 2 people

After doing extensive research on low interest credit cards, I found this one to be one of the lowest!! I was approved for 8% interest and a $15,000 credit in minutes! I use a different card for their rewards program but this is a GREAT card for emergencies when you might not be able to pay off your credit card debt.  I'm 30 years old and was approved for $15,000 in minutes, nothing bad to say about this card.

Barclayring card is an awsome card to have, with a very low 8% APR. This is especially great for emegencies. Not only is their purchasing APR 8%, but so is their cash advance APR. I use this card just one time a month to keep it active and it is there for me incase I need to make an emergency purchase and will not be able to pay off at the end of the month. I really love the customer service of Barclay as well.

appiled/approved 1/28/15 in less than 30 secs. congratulations you limit is unlike Discover and American Express . I have already got double the credit by calling reconsideration line/credit dept. they asked me reasons for certain bills on my credit file but used same hard pull to review. This is fantastic since ive been with Cap one and Especially - Target no increase since 2008/2009 had card since 2007 a measley $700 credit line . Even Walmart is giving more credit but they are useless since simply giving more time to pay bill not a benefit when pay in full each mth. Well my compliant is i was told that i could pay $25 and would have my card 1/30/15 but Rep mislead me .. Seems that since i didn t choose it upfront with application not option .. looks like snail mail time. Really looking foward to not having to stress about interest rates and taking my time paying off large purchased since Barclay wll be my highest limit. The reps are polite, practically no wait time ,and automated system is super easy to manuever. looks i can make a little money through community which is credit education city. hoorah for me.Good credit actually means something. Ok another thing is not a rewards cards but get out of jam discount for a longterm. oh yeah , Dont apply if you dont have excellent credit ....  will keep you updated.

Everyone is talking about getting approv Helpful to 7 out of 10 people

So your all happy for getting approved for $300 ok and so was i 18 months ago.

Been living over seas for a while so no credit file or history. Came to the USA 18 months ago opened a bank account at Bank of America and deposited $10,000 into on the spot was approved for $1500 cash rewards with 0 credit score.

Got these within the first 6 months after getting approved for Bank of America:

$300 Capital one secured with $100 deposit , $500 capital one platium, $500 credit one bank, $400 first premier bank,

as of 2 months ago....

Applied for amex gold got approved $5k (closed down cap1) , applied for discover got approved for $7500 (closed down other cap1) , applied for citi bank got $17,700 ( closed down credit one bank), applied for barclaycard at apple store got instant $11,000 (closed down first premier).... Then applied for macys store card got $5000

So all that in 18 months.... i think its an achievment. the reason why i closed down those low limits cc after i got approved was becasue the low limits and fees.

mentioning first preimer who charge $95 processing fee and $75 annual fee and only provide a $400 cl. like yea right rather go with amex.
