When I applied for this credit card my score was 563. I was approved for 500 credit card with no interest for a year. I made various payments at least twice a month(on time) and kept my my utilization 1/3 of the balance. 6 months without requesting an increase I was given an increase to 1500.00. My credit score is now 660. I have monitored my credit score on a bi-weekly basis. I recieved an increase on my macy's credit card as well. I began with a secured credit card with Bank of America for 300.00 and that was the beginning of my journey to repairing my credit.I have two accounts which are currently being reported and are about 5-6 years old.

I made sure that once I got approved for these cards I did not apply for anything else. Now I am recieveing pre-approved offers which I dont apply for because I dont want any hard pulls on my account. In less then a year I have managed to increase my credit score by using Credit Karma and reading articles on how to increase my credit. I am happy to say that I went from poor to fair in less than a year.

As for customer service I cant really comment on any of that because I have never had to call them. I pay my bill on line and thats it.

Good luck everyone I am proof that you can fix your credit

Just applied Helpful to 3 out of 3 people

CK650, 5 months post Chp 7 bankruptcy discharge. I have 2 other open credit cards on my credit. One I'm an authorized user, other is a secured capital one card with a $2800 limit. Was also recently approved for a Victoria's Secret card, but denied for a Goodyear Tire card (didn't think I'd get that one anyway, but since I was buying tires I thought the credit hit was worth the slight chance of approval). I also have student loans. All open accounts on my credit do have perfect payment history...

So today I applied for Barlcay, was approved and my limit is $2500. I chose this one as I'm already charging all my expenses on the secured card (and paying it right back off) so it'd be nice to get some type of rewards.

I gave 4 stars as the interest rate is pretty high. However I don't plan on carrying a balance so oh well. I was happy to see that at least there isn't an annual fee.

Hope this info helps others!

Great Card Helpful to 1 out of 2 people

Got this card at the same time I got my Capital One card. Approved for a $500 limit, it was a starting point I thought. After 6 months of normal usage and on time payments got a $1000 increase in my limit to $1500. Very happy. They held my payment once and told me it was being held for 10 days. But I called and they released it on the spot.

No accountability and horrible customer Helpful to 3 out of 3 people

Do not get this or any other credit card from this company!  They have horrible customer service.  They are quick to contact you to let you know when your payment is due and approaching but when there is an issue about  the payment made your hear nothing.  They  are banking on the fact that you won't check your account status that way they can charge you late fees and report you to the credit bureaus.  When you call you can't get any help and basically blame you the consumer.  The reason I'm on this site is because I'm looking for another credit card to transfer my balance to.  Hopefully whoever I decide on is more "about the customer" and not about making money.  Hopefully this review will help someone else avoid issues like this.

Stay Away Helpful to 15 out of 15 people

Barclays is an evil company. One missed payment they will jack the interest rate on you, hope you like a nice round 30%.  Think you have all that room on your credit line? think again they  will take it away overnight, charge you an interest charge then sock you for an overlimit fee.  Stay away from Barclay, or thier rebranded Juniper.  You have been warned
