Mad! Don't do it! Helpful to 8 out of 9 people

I carefully considered applying for this card. My husband has this card with a $10,000 CL. My credit scores are TU 665 and EQ 664. Not great, but higher than my hubby's when he was approved and higher than a lot of people on here that were approved. I have 2 collections from 5 years ago and no BK. Denied instantly. And they do a hard inquiry! Really mad that I applied.

Hard Inquiry!!! Helpful to 20 out of 24 people

It was easy to apply for. I was really surprised at the large credit limite I got ($1300). My score had gone up prior to applying from 648 to 681 over the last few months. But then....... I got an email notice that stated I had a hard inquiry posted to my credit from Barclay. It dropped my score several points!!! I was ****ed to say the least. After a bit, I figured maybe it was due to the large CL. But still, it really makes you mad, when you are trying to better yourself and your score and then this happens. It is not outright terrible, but they should warn you about it at least up front. I just got to keep trying to keep up the good work of rebuilding.

APPROVED Helpful to 5 out of 5 people

In my early 20's I really messed up my credit, and I spent a couple years working to correct the mistakes. I have paid off all my collection items in early '15 and I appilied for this card after reading a ton of reviews and was approved for $1,300 CL. FICO (655) Vang (700) - This was a big deal for me because I have never been approved for more than a $1,000 CL before.
