Anywhere But Here...
Anonymous Account Holder

Anywhere but here, especially for auto loans.

They make it so you can't pay your auto-loan from your regular bank account, you have to make an account with them and pay it through that account only.  So you already use two direct deposit accounts you will have to drop one to make sure you put money in their account to pay your loan.

If you want control of your money, meaning pay your payment when you know you have money, usually after you get paid from work, they will charge you an additional 3.00 for a statement that everyone else on the planet provides for free.

Getting an auto-loan with Air Force Credit Union was hands down the worse financial decision I have ever made in my entire life.

Be Warned - You Will Regret Doing Business with them.

  1. I contacted aafcu regarding my auto loan which I just refinanced through them. I had serious issues with Rate Genius which is who I used to help me refinance. I didn't receive any paperwork regarding my membership until after my first payment was due. I called ahead and I was proactive to ensure I paid within the allotted time. I was told on 3 separate occasions to pay through my bank's bill pay service because I could not pay online through AFFCU. I did as I was advised because I was told there is a 10 day grace period. I got a call from a very rude and unprofessional service rep

INCOMPETENCE is an understatement.

Went in for a car loan. Provided EXACT car year make and model. Got approved for the loan but not the car?????????????  because it was too old. They took the application and ran my credit knowing the car did not qualify for the loan.

Spoke to a rep at the location, he stated " by law I can't tell you that you would not qualify", "by law I cannot deny an application"...  I was also reminded that by the rep that no one forced me to apply for the loan. There was NOTHING that provided the stipulation that the car has to be so many years old or it would not qualify after so many miles... The assumption of providing the car information is so that they would know what the loan was for upfront. But no, according to the Rep, I am at fault for applying because no one forced me. I asked to speak to a manager and he sent me to voice mail.

Good business practices are common sense, yet not all Businesses practice good business. And the craziest part is that it's FREE. It cost AirForce Credit Union nothing to provide GOOD BUSINESS.  Therefore AirForce Credit Union, you will not have my business or anyone else that I know of in need of your services.. I will point them to a Bank that is transparent when they do business.
