The worst.

They will give you the run around, cost you huge sums of money, only to act as if you, by following their instructions, caused the issue. Don't use this company!

Very Happy

I've been with American National for over 10 years with my home, auto and life insurance. I've never had a problem with the few claims I've had and my rate have stayed steady.  I read other reviews here and am confused...  becuase I have always felt it was my resoponsibilty to read my poilicy and ask questions so I understand what I have before a claim comes up.  Its no different than a loan I get or other business I do-  its my job to know what I am buying and the polices are pretty clear on what is covered and what isn't if you read them.

Scam
Anonymous Policyholder

They will do an inspection AFTER the policy was in force and cancel policy on really minor stuff.  They won't reinstate policy after repairs made...want to raise the lowest quoted rates to sucker you in...

they suck and try to get out of it
Anonymous Policyholder

The policy means nothing to them.  Agents advise best way to submit policy, then change it after its done and then use that to deny claims.  they actually wrote a policy on a $300k house listing value at $3k, when they changed it to correct it they denied damage claims, and then cancelled.  have had 4 friends and 3 relatives get screwed by them.  RUN AND RUN FAST FROM THEM
