What to do once you paid collections to improve score??
HI, im pretty new to understanding credit, that being said had credit over 750, lots of credit card use, and unpaid debt, it ended up in low 500's. Ive since gotten my finances somewhat on track and managed to paid everything except my student loans (only 6k) for which ive just started making payments. My credit score right now is 610, my question is, some of these credit cards were sent to collections and had a really bad impact on my score (late, collections, settled debt, etc) I keep seeing people here talk about sending letters to get those bad reports deleted, in some cases saying that if the creditor (or collector?) doesnt reply within a certain period of time it then becomes an automaic deletion? If someone could PLEASE explain this process to me, what and where to send, i would really appreciate it! Thanks so much!!!
