Utility account
As a landlord, I acquired a gas bill, due to a tenant moving without settling her debt with the gas company. However, after a year or so of the gas company sending the bill in their name unpaid, the gas company began to send the bill to owner of the building. I opened the bill, saw the high bill and called to explain that the bill was under the tenants name, there are 2 furnaces to the building and how unfair it was for me to acquire this bill. The account obviously has a different account number than mine, although we are in the same building. the 1st account, which is mine is less than $170.00. The second account, which belonged to the tenant is now $560.00 and something, of which I paid down monthly, from $700.00 to $800.00. What can I do to fix this situation and return back to an improved credit score. Recently, my credit score climbed by 8 points and now, to me, it's low again. The gas company, is not listing the true balances of both accounts. How can I fix this.
