student loan balance after paying off
The IRS has used my tax return to pay off my student loan. This happened for three years, which I had no problem with. i was under the impression that it was all paid off and have received full tax refunds for the past 2 years. now, i check here and dept of ed says i still have a full balance. how is that possible when the irs was supposed to have sent them those funds? it is classified as a collection/charge off. the initial balance was 11K and is now 14K. what is my next step to get this fixed. I have no documentation or letters that this was done.
