OC Closed Derogatory/Paid Collection
So here's the situation, I recently cheked my report and found that an old account that I had paid was showing up as "Closed -Derogatory". Upon doing some checking, it says the account was charged off and purchased by another lender. However, the bill was sent to collections (and i believe an in house collection at that) and when I was able I paid the bill in full. However, this collection is not on my report. I have a letter stating the bill is paid in full and the account closed. The letter has both the collection account and the original creditor account number listed. Would not the collector report back to the original creditor or the supposed other lender that purchased the account that it is paid? My question is whether or not my report is inaccurate since the bill is paid. Or is it correct since the collection account is a different entity?
