Joint Mortgage or Not?
Hi! My credit is at 700 atm (FINALLY) Here's my issue, my fiancee and I are looking to purchase an older mobile home (we are on the hunt for a lender that will lend us $35k) my dilemma is that his credit score is tanked due to some indescretions of his former self, he's consistently made on time payments to his car but the credit cards he had are all in collections (they have been for over a year) - we are guessing his credit score to be well under 500. Should I apply for this mortgage myself? I have paid all but my personal loan off and my student loans are in hiatus until Nov/Jan (which I will be attending college again to obtain my masters so they'll be in forebearance again). He is providing at %25 downpayment on any mortgage we get (not to inclue the 35k thats in addition to). I feel my chances of obtaining a mortgage jointly are slim to none because of his credit history. I am lost an not sure of the path that I should take; any guidance is appreciated and absolutely necessary! Hope all is well
