How to get help on student loan credit reporting
When my student loans came out of deferment I could not make the payments. I applied for another, but I had used all the allotted deferments I was eligible to take. I ended up finally getting on a payment plan a few months later and have been on time since then (for over 2 years). My problem is this: even though it is one payment, each semester's loan counts as an individual account, and for those months each one was reported late on my credit report individually. So instead of 5 late payments (for which I take full responsibility), my credit report shows 40 plus late payments. Is there any way to get all of the multiple semester loans to count as one on my credit report to reduce the number of recorded late payments?
